Genset Shows as Stopped on GUI 2.0 and Charging Ceases with high genset loads

On anchor with a 11kVA genset running I come out of Sustain mode by selecting Charge Battery to 100%. Cerbo GX GUI2.0 displays expected values UNTIL I fully load the genset, by for example turning on a second air-con unit. Then the GUI 2.0 display changes from the usual generator running parameters and instead shows GENERATOR STOPPED. House battery charging stops/battery begins discharging. In fact the generator is operating without any problem and is not overloaded.

Sometimes I can get things back to normal by hitting RE-DETECT VE.BUS and then CHARGE BATT TO 100% in the Cerbo’s MultiPlus settings…but more often than not Charge to 100% button is non-responsive and the only fix is to remove all AC loads and re-boot the MultiPlus. Everything then again operates normally right up to the point where I add a final/additional non-pass-thru AC load. Re-booting the Cerbo does not solve the problem.

Features of my install: MultiPlus 3000/50-120 (2600552), with hot water heater and 2 x air con units NOT passed thru Multi; CerboGX 3.62; DMC-200; SmartShunt 500A v4.19. DVCC is ON and max charge current is limited to 210A; max charge voltage to 14.8V. House battery is 810Ah AGM.

Note in the MultiPlus settings I have max AC1 grid limit set to 50A and the Override by Remote is checked: I’ve tried altering the current limit on the DMC between 15-42A, without effect.

On the Cerbo, I have nominated AC1 as Generator and I change this to ShorePower when back at the dock.

I cannot see anything in the MultiPlus settings that would cause its charger to reject charge current from the genset. I have experimented with setting the Weak AC and Dynamic Current Limiter features of the MultiPlus on individually and together: no effect on the above-reported problem.

I’m guessing I have a Cerbo setting wrong….can anyone enlighten me?

Thanks in advance.

Do you have an mk3 adapter? If so connect to the MP and open up ve configure. Duplicate the problem, then check the status in ve configure and see if it tells you anything.

Good idea…I do have a Mk3 adapter so I’ll give that a try and report back here.
