For some time I’m trying to connect my old Phoenix multi 24v2500w70A with my laptop.(windows 11)
I tried with VEConfigure 1 (version90.03.120) but an errorcode “Software version:1012116 is not supported!” appears.
The same with VEConfigure 3 “Software 1012116 is not supported; use VEConfigure (version 9003119 or later)”
Also I tried to connect with VEFlash but therefor I need to download the Firmware first.
In the documentation VE.Bus firmware versions explained I read: “All versions VE Bus products can be updated to xxxx2xx firmware (including Phoenix inverters)”
Does anyone know where to find these firmware?
Does anyone have any experience with this old Phoenix multis?
Or is it to tricky for this old machine to get stuck halfway the download?
I only want to change some settings. If anyone knows how to do so with the DIP switches I would be very glad.
I also tried to figure out how to change the settings by using the manuals I find online.
In all the manuals I find they speak of “pushbuttons” to change the settings.
My Phoenix doesn’t have any “pushbuttons” only the DIP switches.
So this is why I bought the MK2.
I’m looking forward to any reply and thank you all in advance.
If your Phoenix has a recent enough (large) CPU (capable of handling the latest firmware) you can flash it with the latest firmware and merrily go about.
Firmware version 1012xyz seems kind of (very) old tough, it predates any software or hardware version I can find.
Are you sure you have the specifications of your Phoenix right ?
Thanks for quick reply.
Yes the specifications are right.
If my multi is to old, do you know by any chance how to change settings with te DIP switches?
As I said before my multi only has the DIP switches and no pushbuttons.
The right manual would be very helpful.
The only manuals I find is for Phoenix with pushbuttons.
Thanks again!
Try to find out how you can configure without flashing a new firmware.
It works, right? So no need to change the firmware just to be able to configure it.
Being so old, be careful that the flash memories are affected by the temperatures they’ve worked in the past.
And for sure that inverter saw some high temperatures during its life.
You may end up with a malfunctioning microcontroller because of the flash memory malfunction…
Also, please tell us what do you want to change, maybe the more knowledgeable ones on these old units are able to tell you what you need to do…
Thanks again! I think your right, mine must be older.
The Dipswitches Ds1to Ds8 (indicated with “I” in foto) are definitely there .
They’re in the left upper corner.
The pushbuttons for set-up mode (indicated with “J” in foto) are not there.
So all the manuals must be younger.
Is there another way to find even older manuals? That would be very helpful. Or do you have any other suggestions ,I would be very grateful .
Do you think I can’t use the Mk2 to connect?
Then I try to send it back.
Thanks for your time
Thank you for your reply!
You definitely have a good point.
The phoenix multi is working and it could be fatal if it got stuck halfway through the download.
I just want to change the charging characteristics.
The charger is in the 50 % mode now.
I want to change it to 100% because it’s mainly used as a charger with my generator .
The float voltage now is 26,4v and I want to change it to 27,6v.
I’m not sure what 's the absorption time now but I would like it on 8 ours.
The problem is I can´t find the right manual.
My Phoenix does have the Dipswitches but it doesn’t have the pushbuttons “up” and “down” for set-up mode.
In all the manuals I find they use the pushbuttons and the Dipswitches to change the settings.
There must be a way to change settings with te Dipswitches only.
But without a proper manual it’s to tricky to experiment I think. I hope we’ll find a solution
Thanks again for your time!
I guess the potentiometers are used to adjust the charging voltages (absorption, float, storage, boost) and maybe also the current.
But I’m not sure.
I guess that unit is more than 20 years old.
