Hello,
does anyone know, if or when the Blue Smart IP67 Charger will get compatibel with the VE.Smart Networking (maybe through a firmware update)?
I was stupid enough to assume that the “Blue Smart” designation meant it could always do that. After I bought and installed it, I discovered that it couldn’t communicate with my SmartShunt via Bluetooth.
Thanks a lot.
I have a similar problem.
I bought a IP65 BSC 24/8 via ebay, and I had to learn, that VE.Smart.Networking can`t be enabled.
Is it ok to connect a IP65 charger without VE.Smart.Networking the same battery, which is already charged by an IP22 BSC 24/16 .
Or will the two chargers finally destroy themselves or the battery?
Same for me!
And since the original fuse is located close to the charger I had to oversize it an place the correct size fuse closer to battery. Hence, I now have 0.3 V voltage drop. I hope that VE.Smart network will solve this by providing charger with correct battery voltage.
@michael700 as it approaches fully charged no current will flow, so there should be no voltage drop? Im not sure exactly how this interfaces with the charging algorithm though, and I would still like remote temperature sensing.
I stupidly believed the IP67 manual when it said “For more accurate temperature compensation, battery temperature data can be sourced from a compatible battery monitor (such as a BMV, SmartShunt, Smart Battery Sense or VE.Bus Smart Dongle) via VE.Smart Networking”. Mine arrived today and I updated the firmware to v3.65, and the Smart Battery Sense to v1.15. The IP67s still don’t appear in the Smart Battery Sense’s network, and there are no VE.Smart settings under the IP67 in Victron Connect, so the manual appears to be a complete fabrication and there are no products that can provide remote voltage or temperature sense? The ominous silence from Victron on the update?
