Not a direct solution for the original poster, as it does not allow for a solution withing the EV Charger configuration pages. But figured out you can set the Light ring brightness (set to 0 to disable it) via a modbus register. See my own answer in #44602 for an example on how to do this in NodeRed or in Home Assistant.
There are other pages that describe how to set a modbus register via a script or other automation providers.
