EVCS Charging NMC to max. 80%

Hi,
Is there a possiblity to set EVCS to charging the EV battery to max. 80%.
Lithium NMC batteries are not supposed to charge to 100% every charging cycle.

Might be, maybe it reduces battery life by 10% ?

But if you don’t reach absorption voltage you won’t have cell balancing.

So now what do we do ?

The EVCS is not really charging anything… it’s like a smart relay turning on and off the mains power to the car’s charging port.

Your car’s built-in charging hardware is doing the actual charging, according to the specifications of the vehicle/battery manufacturer. Better to take it up with them.

In various publications it is adviced to charge NMC batteries to 100% at least once a month for balancing.
Standard charging (without balancing) should be 80%
And specifically not to charge to 100% if you don’t use the EV the next day and thus staying around 100% for more than a few hours.

The EVCS doesn’t know the SOC of your cars battery.
You have to configure that in the car.

Thanks Matthias,
After studying some more I found that my Peugeot e-208 has no possibilities to set te charge limit to 80% in the car system nor in the app. However there is a PSA Car Controller which can do the trick using the Stellantis API
