ESS Mode list in different order V2, new menu structure makes me scroll a lot

Hi,

Just a small thing I noticed because my brain remembers things visually. The ESS Mode list on GUI V2 (2 locations) is in order different than the list on VRM and GUI V1.

For me the right setting is the top setting (no idea if this is with or without battery life).
Sometimes I change to Keep batteries charged.
It’s such a small thing (I know you have more important issues to solve) that I hesitated to mention it, sorry.

The same hesitation applies to the new menu structure in GUI V2. This new menu structure is also a challenge for me. I know the ‘old’ locations of certain settings by memory. With the new settings and the flat large menu structure, for me it doesn’t look to be to be organized. I have to go trough almost all the setting to find the setting I am looking for (I am dyslectic, so it takes time for me).

For example, the ‘Network security profile’ setting and the ‘SSH on Lan’ are placed in ‘General’? To me it would make more sense when all the Network (or Communication) settings like Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth, VRM Online Portal, GSM Modem would be in one categorie ‘Network Settings’. This would be for me the logical place to find the Network security profile and SSH on Lan setting.

It’s the same with VRM Device Instances, maybe this could be moved to ‘Devices’.
Generator start stop and Tank Pump could be moved to Relay ;).

I can keep on going but I will stop, hahaha.
Take care,

Robert

Hey @robert.casadoouro ,

Good feedback! We’ check that ESS menu and make sure that its the same everywhere.

And wrt menu structure we have a major improvement planned. But its waiting now, for the developer to have finished v1 release + bugfixes.

More feedback very welcome. I’ll make sure that the team working on those menu structure changes read this post.

Hi Matthijs,

Thanks for your reply. Will have a look at the next beta’s when they arrive and there is time to work on this.

I noticed my post has been moved to DIY category. Sadly I have no idea why and what my post has to do with the DIY topics :frowning: . Anyhow, good luck with the new upcoming (beta) releases.

Robert

Hi @robert.casadoouro ,

Wrt the category: small mistake I think. I moved it to the right one now.

For the ESS menu: fixed! See v3.51~3 beta
