Recurring error code: #38 - PV Input shutdown. Rebooting MPPT and firmware updates helps but only for few weeks. System consists of the following products.
1 x MutliPlus- II 48/5000/70
Cerbo GX
SmartSolar MPPT 250/60
1 x BSL 7Kwh Battery
6 x Jinko 550 Panels

Good day, just an update on this Mppt. Did a firmware downgrade to V1.61 on the Mppt and upgraded it back to the latest firmware version V1.64. This rebooted the Mppt remotely and cleared the “Error code 38 PV shut down”. Unfortunately the Mppt was still not generating. Upon site visit a system reboot was done (waited 3-5 min before turning on), but Mppt still did not start generating. Then measured the PV out put voltage and when discounted from Mppt and then again while connected (see images attached). The Mppt has been set back for further diagnostics. Is there any way of knowing what could be the cause? I have similar systems with same size components and brands that haven’t given this Error, just on this site where it is reoccurring.
Hi could just be a faulty MPPT, let’s wait and see, you’re supplier might just replace it.
The pv shorting usually happens when the mppt is stopping charge. Because it is detecting a problem.

If the above are no the issue and the problem persists also in the manual, it says the mppt could be faulty.

Mppt was been replaced under warranty. New one was installed on 29 Jan 2025 and has been running smoothly thus far.
