I have 3 mppts for my solar system. The three were installed in the evening this week and every morning since then 2 of the MPPTs are showing up as incompatible device each morning. They are making power but I dont know why this is happening. They all seemed to install and set up properly and they are all matching in there settings. Any suggestions? I am wondering why they all work but still get the error saying they are incompatible? Thanks
Are the mppts Interconnected at all? using cat 5 cable or VE-direct all back to one GX device?
Yes..they are all connected with proper cables
When there is this warning, firmware is the first thing to check on all the devices. Update them all. Check that they are programmed exactly the same and correct for your battery chemistry and voltages
Or remove ve smart network if you enabled it. You have a gx so it is not needed.
Is there error a critical issue? It seems to me the mppts are all working fine and balanced but not sure what the error is suggesting a failure if not corrected
If it wasn’t a problem (or potentially going to be one) it would not be a thing that is reported.
So it is best to check.
It is related to battery charging and sisn6ce that is usually the most expensive part of a system it makes sense to prevent a problem developing.
Do you have an older victron inverter maybe in the system?
Everything in my system is new. Inverters were made in 2024 bought in 2025
Quick question. Where should the comms cable from cerbo be plugged in, MPPT 1, 2, or 3. Currently it is plugged into MPPT3
What exact sccs are you using? When you mention scc ports 1 2 and 3 it makes me think you are talking vedirect ports? Those each require seperate connections to cerbo. Versus daisy chained ve.can where one connection to a ve.can port, and terminator on either end, i.e other ve.can port on cerbo and other terminator on final device.
If it is can, and they are interconnect/daisy chained then it does not matter. Make sure the can terminator is in the last mppt.
A note. You cannot connect one to ve direct then use can to connect the other two to the one with ve direct.
The main comms cable starts on 3, then daisy chains to 1 then to 2 with can terminator at the end of 2. This error 66 only shows when the mppts are running then goes away when the sun goes down. The mppt 1 says it is a “slave” but 2&3 do not. Is that possibly the issue? If so how do I fix that? I used my Bluetooth and went into the cerbo and looked at each mppt, including under battery section and they appear to all be the same. And I am not using Ve connect on any of the mppts.
Do you have a terminator on the open ve.can port on the cerbo?
Where does it say slave?
I was able to rest the comms to cerbo by unplugging main comms cable and one of the daisy chains and now they are in sequence and no more warnings/alerts
