Energy Meter VM-3P75CT fast fluctuating measurement

And there goes all our work and efforts to make the fastest and low latency possible meter.. out the window

:sweat_smile::wink:

It’s amazing fast but when the victron multiplus 2 tries to keep the grid at 0 watts it seems to come in an oscillating state. When the multiplus is idle, the VM-3P75CT reading is also stable, even with pv power. Maybe it doesn’t have to do with the fast reading but more with the pid control loop which is over shooting the setpoint.

The burst mode of enphase can indeed cause fluctuation but that’s not the only thing that causes oscillation because there is no oscillation when there is enough pv power and the multiplus 2 is idle. If it was just burst mode that for me would be perfectly fine because it’s something that can’t be solved without replacing pv inverters.

Had the same here now, as i replaced my Shelly 3EM with a VM-3P75CT on the PV Inverter side - to be more in a supported ‘Victron world’. I have 5 Hoymiles 1500 Microinverter on my Garage, feeding into 3 phases there and values are oscillating sometimes up to 400 W up and down. The Shelly 3EM didn’t show this behavior. Clamps are correctly closed - did triple check this today.

Also did add one on the Grid side to have faster readings, and get the numbers in VRM right

Today i really had some kind of a resoncane loop with the Multiplus when i heard the fans going off and on all the time today as the Multiplus was feeding up and down back to the Grid to compensate. Multiplus were also rumbling up and down so you could feel the oscillation which is going on. Changed ESS config for a moment to use the internal meter of the Multiplus to see if that changes something but it didn’t (unclear who quick this change applies). Didn’t have this behavior before

Any update on that topic? VRM Site ID is 286123

No update about this issue unfortunately

I see same behavior with several Hoymiles HMS-2000, HMS-1000 and HM-600.

Currently my system is switched off due to no sun, but if you like to enable logging, site id: 382372
Ping me, I will switch on.
