EasySolar 48/5000 self-shutdown and now not turning on

All working fine the evening before and when main rocker switch was turned to INVERT OFF. Next morning entire unit was discovered ‘dead’: NO DISPLAY, NO OUTPUT, NO SOUND. Unit about 5 years old.

Tested all fuses, external and internal, to be ok and 52V at both internal 48V DC power input posts.

Disconnected battery bank for 1+ hrs, then re-connected. No change.

Disconnected T-sense, re-connected. No change.

Unplugged and reconnected all connections to Color Control unit.

No unusual smell or visual signs of damage internally (both front cover plates removed for inspection).

Have tried the two resources linked to in this post Multiplus won't turn on

Is there any other procedure I can try before considerable trouble and expense (remote island location) of returning unit to dealer?

Thank you.

Possibly disconnect all ‘control connections’ and only switch on via the remote … ‘Jumper’ / switch

Does the 48V remain at the terminals when ‘switching on’ or does the voltage ‘drop’?

Thanks for the swift response.

Could you expand a bit on how to do that method of powering on (above) please?

Is the ‘Remote’ bridge plugged into the device? …

Do you mean that the remote on/off wire loop is in place? Yes it is.

Or that the Colour Control GX device is disconnected? No it isn’t, now that I have put the front top panel cover back on.

Not sure what you mean by ‘Remote’ bridge.

Any Victron engineers out there?

This is not an official support forum.
You should contact your seller/installer/distributor.

Do you have a MK3 interface?
Disconnect and reconnect all ribbon cables from the control PCB.

Thanks.

I did contact my seller and they didn’t have any help other than to contact Victron for help. 48 hrs later and they still have had no response from Victron.

The EasySolar is now uninstalled and in my car since I’m on the ferry to the mainland tomorrow morning and not returning for 3 weeks.

I don’t know if I have a MK3 interface - I think I do, is it the RJ45-USB adaptor?

I sincerely hope it’s not an easy fix like disconnecting a ribbon cable! That would be the ultimate in annoyance.

Unit was shipped to Victron UK and the issue was found to be with the CCGX screen, and Victron has now fixed it under warranty. It was just within the 5yr warranty period.
