I have 3 x Multiplus 5kw in parallel, grid connected with a 8kw solar array and 3 x 15kw LFP batteries. It’s summer and we’re generating 50kw but in winter it can be as low as 10kw.
We are in a cold climate (New Zealand) and utilise from 60-90kw a day due to our indoor pool.
My night rate from 9pm to 7am is 0.05 Euro a kw and from 7.01am to 8.59pm is 0.18 Euro.
I have programmed the system using VRM online portal and doubled the day rate to 0.35 Euro in attempt to get the DESS to charge the battery at night at low rate so it will discharge during the day an day rate. The pool heats at night as do I charge my EV, however I am disappointed in the software as whilst is actively changes the solar forecast during the day overall it gets it very wring and almost never charges the battery at low rate and basically my investment in the battery is a not efficient.
I’m hoping Victron’s development team can dial in and learn from my poor experience with DESS.
I did report this issue to your Irish sales manager at METS who was to follow it up but…
Here’s hoping there is a quick fix as we’re replacing our coal boiler with a 24kw heat pump and our energy costs are about to rocket.
