Does generator connect to multiplus in or out?

I’m adding AC generator to my system, gonna use the victron VM-3P75CT to meter

where do I feed in the generator output? into the multiplus in or out, or skip the multiplus and direct to grid? I’m asking so the system counts the watts correctly…

What kind of system did you have ? ESS, island system, boat, RV?

ESS 3phase, wanting to add a small AC wind turbine to L1 for example

Ok, are your hole AC loads at AC out or AC in or mixed…

Do you have an overview plan about your ESS system?

yes entire ac loads on ac out

earlier I read the manual for the meter but there it didn’t say

so I have 3x multiplus, each one fed from 3f grid on L1, L2, L3

I can connect the 2kw ac generator to the ac input / L1 of multiplus #1? and put the meter clamp over that wire?

the turbine ac inverter synchronizes on its own with grid

Does the wind turbine inverter support frequency shifting / frequency watt meaning it reduces the power linear to increase grid frequency?

Ramp down shall starts at 50,2 Hz and reduce to 60% power at around 52Hz. Than it should shutdown.

If all is yes, you can put it to ACout like a grid compliant PV inverter.

Obey 1:1 rule. Tho it not further PV inverters on L1, depending on you MP2 size

yes it can fully synchronize

right now I have ongrid wind turbine inverter connected on the same L1 as multiplus input, so whatever power it makes it sends back to grid

however when sell price is 0 I’m wasting the turbine letting it spin for free. so I thought if I connect to multiplus output it would send that power to ac loads instead? what happens if it made more power than ac loads? do multiplus send it back to grid or battery?

If you have configured ESS the MP2 will try to keep a certain grid set point at the configured measurement point.

If you do not have an external grid meter, than the measurement point is the mmMP2.

If you have selected an external energy meter (EM) like the VM-3p75ct it will be that device.

If your connection is:
grid - EM - wind turbine & loads - MP2

Then the MP2 try to hold e.g. 0W at EM/grid.
If wind energy is greater than loads, MP2 will charge battery.
If wind energy is less than loads, MP2 will add the mussing from battery.

If the wind turbine and loads are on AC_out, you do not need the EM. But the wind turbine does not only need to synchronize but also power down a frequency.

Pls search for Victron ESS handbook.

thanks. I can confirm my wind turbine inverter synchronizes and works plugged into the mutiplus2 out
