Dess not charging end of quarter

At the end of a quarter dess stops charging and starts again at the beginning of a new quarter while charging was planned for a few hours continously.

How can I solve this issue?

With DESS your system is targeting a specific SOC % by the end of the 15 minute interval. If it achieves that early, it’ll stop charging and then start again at the next 15 minute interval. Overall, the system should achieve the desired SOC at the end of the full charge period.

See below for my system. You can see the green line step up every 15 mins, and the system SOC then hits that, and then it steps up again the next hour.

I’ve found the behavior you see either means the (a) DESS system efficiency is set too low (because VRM is accounting for this in the AC kWh in / out → SOC % change calculation), or (b) the battery is slightly degraded (meaning, the real capacity is less than the capacity you put in to VRM), or (c) solar came in much higher than projected (so less grid charge was needed)

For me, it was (a) and I found that OK, because I’d rather DESS be slightly conservative when discharging the battery (meaning, how many AC kWh out we’ll get for each % SOC decrease).
