Hello Victron,
I like the DESS idea. I would love to use it, but I find myself batteling DESS behaviour all the time.. Right now I kind of ‘snoozed’ DESS and set my RS System to External Control.
So I was wondering..
My setup contains out of ~4.2 kW solar panels. I have a home-made Battery of about 25 kWh. My house usage is an avarge of ~14 kWh a day.
Let’s take today as an example;
Today was a sunny day (just like yesterday, and tomorrow). My battery was at ~80% full today at 08:00. When the sun starts to shine it will in general be able to fillup the battery at arround 12:00.
Then after 12:00 you can see that the energy being is being fed back to the grid.
This process repeats itself everyday.
So I ended up dumping energy to the Grid ony a very ‘cheap’ moment, therefore not getting any monney for it…
Now I would like to control the ‘selling’ behaviour better. For example tell DESS that whenver forecast is above X kWh tomorrow, It would be allowed to sell Y amount of kWh to the grid in the most expensive hour.
In my case, tomorrow is forecased to bring 18.7 kWh of solar energy.
My house uses 14 kWh on average every 24 hours, so tomorrow will leave me with ~4kWh to mutch. And therefore will be fed back to the grid on a bad price…
So I would like to control this better and sell the 4kWh that is expected to be on the most expecsive hour…
I hope this makes any sense
