I am in the process of installing (3) Wattcycle 280AH in parallel for house battery bank. I have a Victron BMV712 with temp sensor, 500A shunt, Blue Solar 100V/50amp MPPT with VE smart dongle, 600 watt solar panels. This will be used for monitoring and charging the LiFepo4 house bank. I have twin Yanmar diesels, each with 55amp Hitachi Yanmar alternators that are charging separate battery banks port and starboard. The battery banks are (2) group 31 flooded lead acid 650CCA batteries wired in parallel.
My plan is to use 55 amp alternator wired to (2) Lead acid 650CCA start batteries in parallel wired to Orion-TR DC to DC 12V/12V 18A charger wired to (3) parallel wired WattCycle 280AH battery bank. This would be X2 because there are two engines.
I also have 600W solar panels 3 200W panels wired to a 100V/50amp Blue solar with a smart dongle that will be charging the Lithium bank.
I plan on installing a Smart IP43 12V 50Amp 1+1 for charging the lithium bank.
I have a 30 amp pro mariner 3 output charger that I will use to maintain the two engine cranking Flooded lead acid banks.
My questions:
Is this a configuration that would work?
Will each TR DC to DC 18 amp combined charge the lithium at 36amps? Would the Orion XS be a better choice? If so why ? I am trying to stay with the alternator to DC to DC charger rule of no more than 50% alternator output to DC to DC charge output. I am figuring the TR will draw about 21 amps to make 18 amps charge.
Once I figure out what equipment I will use then I will start to plan cabling and breaker/fuse installation.
Thank you in advance for advise, opinions or comments.
