I am charging a 24v lithium battery with solar and MPPT controller. When I monitor the charging using the AC charger it ramps up voltage very slowly 1/10th of a volt each time. How do I replicate this in the MPPT controller via the Victron Connect settings?
You can’t. An mppt will by default ramp charging as PV is not instantaneous.
What problem are you trying to fix?
Ideally the battery is a supported one by Victron, then you can connect it to a GX and it will manage the charger.
Thanks. I am running an LED lamp for evening hours. It needs solar charging as no AC power. It is 24v Lamp so a small Blue solar MPPT will control timing.
The battery is generic 150ah Lifpo 24v. With 8nternal BMS. I need to charge it via solar panels. It is advertised as solar chargeable but no fine detail on the parameters so I am measuring what the AC charger puts into it as it charges.
Maybe I can use a very low absorbtion charge to just over the 24v /3amps with the Victron.
It has finished charging on the AC and the voltage got up to 25.6v it never went higher than that.
