I have configured the Quattro for solar support to not fully charge the battery to 100% and leave some charge for solar energy charging. During the first few weeks I could start and stop charging to 100% in the remote console. But for about 2 weeks I do not have the STOP button anymore. The remote console only shows “in progress” and the charger always charges to 100% and never goes to sustain (it stays in absorption). How can I fix this and stop the 100’% charge cycle?
Do you use the “solar/wind priority” feature?
If yes this is explained in the documentation:
https://www.victronenergy.com/live/ve.bus:solar-and-wind-priority
Yes I do. But how do I get it back into sustain mode?
The document only says it will not go back into sustain mode but what is the purpose of this mode if it only works for 7 days ??
excerpt from documentation:
After those seven days, the system will not go back into sustain mode. Instead it will keep the batteries fully charged; and, where and when possible, during the day prioritise solar over shore power to power DC loads such as pumps and alarm systems.
I guess you have to disconnect the grid for a while.
This feature is not designed for systems that are always connected to the grid.
It is meant to be used in RVs or Boats that are mostly off-grid an only grid connected for a few days.
How strange. Most boats are exactly the opposite. They are sitting in the marina and are waiting for the next trip. 99% off all boats are in the marina.
Can somebody from Victron explain the use case?
