Looking for some advice as regarding the Victron TR (12-12-30) and the XS-50A. Basically I installed a TR in my van (VW caddy) behind the passenger seat then when I was reading up about charger settings I realised that I had mounted this incorrectly (flat on floor rather than vertical) so I was googling to see what my options were. I had thought about mounting on a frame with no back to help with cooling but the advise I had received on a facebook group was to change this to an XS as these units run cooler? - if the TR is going to be problematic I think I will have to take the financial hit and swap this for an XS but just wanted to double check this was the right thing to do. I understand the XS can be mounted in any orientation, is this correct? - Ideally I would like to mount this on the floor - but could add spacers so there is an air gap below - something like 25mm clear was my thoughts,
Any help/suggestions would be great. I have seen people mount TR’s in boxes under seats in some vans but I am a bit concerned about the overheating aspect of things after reading up about these,
