Cerbo GX + MPII rejecting Generator AC over and over

Hi,

The MPII of my setup keeps rejecting the Generator’s AC (Onan Microlite 4K). Here are my current software versions:

This is what the VRM sees coming in from the Generator:

The orange AC input Amperage fluctuates at every MPII trying the Generator’s AC. With the “Weak AC” and "Accept wide input frequency range (45-65Hz)” enabled, I am not sure how to proceed.

Any ideas?

Thank you
Simon

Should the Multi charge your battery or also supply the loads?
The Multi has recognised the generator… Voltage and frequency are detected.
If you use the Remote Console on your vehicle… do you have an up-to-date image of the console?
What did you use to configure the Multi?

Based on the available settings, to configure the Multi I used a combination of Victron.Connect and the Cerbo’s Remote Console.

Yes, I have the latest console image: v3.66.

some pictures of the configuration settings ?
Try to reduce the input Current … for testing
And show the “Charger” Settings AND some Infos about your Battery

Hi Steffen,

With VEConfig, I double checked the MPII config and noticed two things:

  • the virtual switch (VS) was enabled
  • the Grid code was set to “Other”

So I disabled the VS and set the grid code to “None”. Now the generator power is accepted by the Multi!!!

Here is the current configuration:

Could not add the Assistant (None) and Advanced Screenshots (enabled “limit Internal charger to external sources” and Sustain Voltage set to 13.00 V”)

Thanks
Simon

sounds like a “used” Multi

Check the input current limit and the charging current in the “charger” so that you do not overload your generator in the long term.
