RVer here. Current install was completed by original owner. (We’ve had this fifth wheel five years, though.)
I’m ready to add 2x Victron Energy BlueSolar MPPT 100V 30 amp 12/24-Volt Solar Charge Controller to the mix. ( I have two portable solar panels (different wattages, hence 2x MPPT controllers.) Unfortunately, without reworking everything already installed, in other words: moving everything around, I don’t quite have space. However, I can, above the electronics bay, add a mounting option across the top. I just need to know if it’s okay to install these controllers both flat and upside down. Picture above your head, facing down.
In principle you can, but it is not ideal as ingress protection only applies if installed with the terminals facing down and the other aspects are heat dissipation / airflow which could be less than ideal. If the MPPTs get hot, they will derate and since all other hot air will also rise to the top of the bay, I personally would avoid it. It is obviously not a simple yes or no answer with many things to consider. Best practice would be not to.

Okay. Thank you. Guess ill have to rearrange everything. Ugh.
Your MPPTs are reasonably heavy at 30A. You havent mentioned system voltage, but I presume 12V. Your portable solar panels cant be over 200W, which is a charging current of 14A, which wont even warm a 100|30
All guesses, since you left out details.
I have a 400 and a 350, hence why i got 2 more controllers. Yes 12v.
