OK. So I am looking at building a solar generator. I have a travel trailer that has a 30amp shore power hookup. I want to build out an external power source for this trailer for boondocking. I also have a piece of property that I am clearing to get ready to build on. So I need (Wife wants AC) to power the trailer 120v system to get the ac running along with other 120v features of the trailer. I also want to use it to power several hand tools around the property as I start the build out. AKA saws, compressors…. This unit needs to be self contained(within reasons) I am looking to have 4 100ah 12v batteries along with a MultiPlus 2x rated for at least 3000(can be higher but not necessarily) This system would need to be able to be charged from Solar and shore power. I don’t think I will be hooking it up to my truck to charge it. So I am thinking of this going into sometype of packout system. This would allow me to add additional batteries to the system if need be. I would be adding the units to additional packout so the batteries in 1 the multiplus in another but hooked together so I can pull it around. Also, with this setup, I would like to use it as a powersource at my current home during blackouts.
I would like it to be able to power the trailer for 48 or so hours without recharge. But having solar hooked up to it will be a forsure on the property and maybe not as many cells when boondocking. I do not want to ‘install’ it in the trailer as there is minimal storage lockers available, plus would kill the inability to move it around as need be
Some questions are as follows
Is this feasible?
Do I have enough batteries?
Is there a better choice for an all inclusive charger/inverter?
Am I just crazy with this thought process?
I have the skills to design and build out this system. I am just trying to get feedback on if this is to crazy of an idea.
