BMV-712 Backlight

Good day, I know the back light can be activated to be on permanently (which is not what I require). When the BMV-712 is read, a button can can be pressed to activate the backlight to read the value displayed. The problem is that when a button is pressed to activate the backlight, the display is changed to the next display entry, requiring the user to press another button to return to the previous displayed value (which is normally kept visible without the backlight on).

Is it possible to update the firmware as follows: 1. If the backlight is on, then pressing a button will change the display according to the button’s function. 2. If the backlight is off, then on pressing any button, the backlight is activated to display the current display. Any subsequent press will behave like point 1. I realise that this is a minor issue, but becomes irritating after regularly viewing the display. Thank you for considering this logic change

If you press “setup” or “select” instead of up/down only the back light switches on.

Hi,

This is one observation from my side too,
Thanks you for the tip !

But when all is dark, not easy to select/press the corret button

for the records

But one though is, as in my case the display is placed on the cruise board of my RV (truck)
and an option/settings could be to power on the back light when I turn the lights on while driving.

Xavier.

This is why mine is always on in the lowest stage.
