Beginner Question PV planning

Hello community,
i struggle to find, within the amount of information, the right path for my project. Hope i can get here an additional pulse to the “right” direction.
I want to setup 10kWp on my roof, at first step without batteries, but setup shall be prepared to include a battery buffer in future(most likely DIY Lifepo4). The generated Energie i can not consume on AC on my own (washing machine, wallbox…) shall go to the public power grid (later on to load the Batteries).
I have already 2kWp in use which i want to directly connect to the AC internal grid. The additional 10kWp are than more or less a second PV which will be installed in parallel to existing 2kWp
What would help me is link to a example schematic, i can use as a base for this project. I found tons of schematics and good ideas but really have problems to find the most fitting solution. Hope you can help with links / ideas.

As far as I know Victron does not have on grid PV inverters, any of their inverters requires a battery bank to be in the system. If you plan later install victron inverters, just use compatible PV inverters from other companies, like Fronius, ABB, SolarEdge, as they are compatible and can work together

Hi this is what you are looking for https://communityarchive.victronenergy.com/questions/151406/g99-single-line-diagram.html but Obay the 1 to 1 rule if its going on AC output of the inverter

first implementation: without grey colored boxes - no batterie
future step: without blue colored box and batterie grey part
So what you are saying is that something like this is not possible:

I thought Multiplus can be configured in a way to have no DC in in use?

Quattro has this funktionallity to switch two AC in, what i do not need i think.
Beside i read somewhere that there is a problem to use Quattro in Germany?

No you need batteries not designed to run pure AC as far as I’m aware as for Germany can’t help on that front you need someone that lives there or knows German Regs

Ok understood. Than it might be interesting for me to think about to start with Battery included. To start with a compatible inverter only as a first step is in my case maybe waste of money. Like i understood to load the Battery fast i need to connect the Panel over MPPT to the Multiplus DC. What means i have the inverter which i no more need because Panel are connected to MPPT.

You cannot use Multiplus without batteries. It may end up with very bad results. Here are some references

Just to add. The order of installation in the manual exists for a reason.

  1. Mount systems
  2. Connect Battery
  3. Connect AC

At some point in the future, the RS systems, in specific configurations may support a battery-less mode, but the transformer-based inverters, with large banks of capacitors just aren’t built for that.

Yes understood. Just forget my beginner question

We all started here, never be afraid to ask a question, that is how you build knowledge.
There are enough people here who have been through the learning curve and can nudge you in the right direction.
It’s only when someone tags themselves as an expert and then asks a beginner question that I start to worry!

Thanks for this goody
