Hi,
I have system installed -
-Quattro 48/8000/110-2x100 * 3
-Pylontech * 3 + CFE batteries * 5. Both are Li. batteries.
-Cerbo Gx
-SmartSolar MPPT VE.Can 250/100 * 4
As some of the batteries have been sent in for repairs, we are temporarily using CFE batteries and running the system in AGM mode.
We have noticed that PV generation only occurs when the battery SOC falls below 100%. Once the batteries reach full charge, the PV power is no longer being utilized.
There is voltage but there is no current on the MPPT.
Could you please advise on the required settings or solution to resolve this issue?
Why use a agm profile when they are all lithium?
If the batteries have comms with the system it may be their control that is the issue.
Use the lithium profile (with voltage control that is the better solution) the temp compensation might be part of the problem.
The other will be the rebulk offset (under expert settings) as agm uses a larger offset.
Also CFE and pylons are not the same number of cells. One is 15s one is 16s. I understand its a temporary set up but care does need to be taken.
As the batteries are of different make and voltage parameters are different we used AGM.
If you have removed the pylontec communication, then you could possibly set 52.4/6v as the absorption. And float at 52 to try keep in the middle ground between the two battery bank needs.
There is a possibility that the CFE wont be balancing.
But don’t use an AGM profile with lithium. The difference is not chemistry its voltage and your could overcharge and damage the pylons
An even better solution is to disconnect the Pylontecs for now. And run only on the CFEs (with the correct voltage settings) for now with care of course.
