Advice on replacing SmartSolar 150/45 A BLE

Hello everyone, I have a 3s3p 3.5 kwh implant. I use a victron of 150/45 A, and recently having strengthened the system the charge to the battery stops at 45 A, and of this I was aware of it. I load much better in the morning and late afternoon, but I manage to take advantage of 2,600 watts at most. I thought I’d replace the victron with the model Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT Tr VE.Can 150V 70 amp 12/24/36/48-Volt Solar Charge Controller (Bluetooth) : Amazon.it: Industrial & Scientific . I use this victron interfaced with esp32 and homeassitant , I assume that the 70 A model is identical in the ble but only more powerful , so I would like to be sure for ble compatibility. I gladly accept suggestions and advice

I would buy an identical unit (or 150V/30A) and split the panels, like MPPT-1 3S2P and MPPT-2 3S1P.

This will reduce the stress on MPPT’s and add some failover protection to your system.

Yes, your proposal is valid, but in my situation I only have a single solar cable run … so I’m unable to apply this scenario, which, all things considered, is particularly valid when creating a Victron network.

What is the section of that single cable run ? Might be a problem with a higher power MPPT.

Might consider another cable as well, of course heavily depends on specific situation.

Hi, I have a single cable run. Does that mean the panels, currently connected in a 3s3p configuration, are joined via a Y-splitter and run down using a 6 mm² cable?

While carrying out this upgrade, I would advise against using splice cables/Y-cables in a 3P panel configuration due to the high current involved. Depending on the cable length, 6 mm² may also be undersized for the 30+ Amps that can be produced under full-sun conditions.

Switching to a junction box with fuses and possibly an SPD would also be a good opportunity to install an additional cable run.

The junction cable I bought is a GEYA 3-pole cable, guaranteed up to 50 A.
