Hello,
I have a off-grid system with a quattro 48/8000, 2x mppt, BYD pro 4x2.5 (10kw) and ccgx
for backup I now use a petrol generator with avr, but this is not working good,
several devices in the house go mad when the generator is on (like apc-ups, pellet stove)
so looking for a new generator and got an offer from konner-sohnen: KS 48V-DC (dc generator)
should be connected directly on the dc 48v bar bus, are there people here who have experience with this kind of generator?
best regards, Henk
Nope but is on mine project plan for Q1 25. Love tinkering.
@salautom Hi Henk,
Did you go for that generator and if so how is it working for you?
I would love to know!
Kind regards,
Joël
sorry, ordered the generator, but still waiting
Am I correct that is maxes out at about 3360w ?
Sad it doesn’t work on Propane.
Every gasoline genny can be converted to propane.
Hi Henk, have you successfully connected this genset to your system ? I have 3 phase Multi II and I’m looking exactly for such a solution . The only question I have is the way to connect genset charge cables to the busbar : just directly ???
yes, connected the generator now for a couple off weeks, connected directly to the dc bus, and autostart/stop by a (relay) signal from the ccgx on specific SOC. working good.
Thanks a lot !
People keep telling me that adding a propane converter is a bad idea and they eventually have problems. I’m therefore sticking with manufacturer support for propane. Went with the KS 8100ieg and have been very happy. It is AC, not DC, so you lose some efficiency, but on the positive side, I can bypass the inverter, batteries, etc and just use AC directly when the solar setup needs to be taken offline for example or has a fault. Already used it a few times!
Könner und Söhnen ?
Wie soll eine Firma was taugen die ihren eigenen Namen falsch schreibt ?
Ist nur ein günstiger Großhändler der auf jedes Produkt seinen Namen draufschreiben läßt.
Russen halt…
Hi guys,
please take a look at the Hatz fiPMG DC generator, it even has DVCC integration.
There’s also a nice video on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5EoTwUVxkA
Best
Well, cheaper then Onan, way more expensive then Hyundai.
Beatifully made, but the link to Hatz gives me a 404…
yeah, but the price… the KS 48V-DC is around 1000 euro and is doing at least for me the job well.
How do you have the charge levels controlled with the KS 48-DC ? Or just let it run ?
just let it run
Yeah, but i don’t trust the package.
Cheap chinese products sold by russians…
So need to add some extra protective measures when using this generator.
So what to use the smartshunt more then just as a measerment but also for triggering a shutdown in combination with node red on the CerboGX if the voltage provided by the generator is out of bounds.
