Multiplus-ii connected to a Cerbo using ESS Assistant: How can I allow AC passthrough but only allow AC charging on demand without changing the current to 0 in the software every time I want to allow AC charging? Alternate ways to make this possible welcome.
Trying to understand here. You are enabling charging from an AC source by setting the charge current to zero in DVCC of the ac input current to zero?
And why? Is it cost based prices or load demand?
Are you using node red or a different manual method?
The is the charge current control assistant where you can add a button or something to an aux to activate it it does need a voltage though when switching between two currents.
My system is constantly connected to the grid to allow AC passthrough when my battery drops to 30% using ESS prioritizing Solar over AC. I am able to accomplish this by changing the charge current to 0 using VEconfigure. Without this change the Multiplus-2 starts charging my battery which I don’t want since the goal of the system is to save money. My solar system is only used to charge my EV. In events when bad weather is anticipated, I would like to be able to charge the battery from AC but the only way to accomplish that is by going into VEConfigure. I would like to be able to do that from app/phone by using the relay to change the charge current between 0 and 70. I am not using node red currently. I am not familiar with how to wire the code using node red but I just downloaded the program and enabled it on my cerbo so far.
If you are on the katest firmware on the inverter and GX you can set up the scheduled charge function in ESS and also control when charge happens and with what with that function.
Schedule charge will only work when AC Charger current is not set to 0 amp and I don’t want the charger to operate 99% of the time but only as needed which am able to do modifying the software but would like a simpler way to accomplish that same goal from the Cerbo app.
