AC-coupling Enphase Modbus TCP

Hi, I found this documentation about Enphase AC-coupling with Victron battery inverters using Modbus TCP/IP https://enphase.com/es-es/media/22786, has any of you enabled Modbus TCP in Enphase for Victron equipment? Thanks

I now already asked 3 times (2 normal tickets and one ticked made by installer chat) to activate Modbus.
I’m waiting already 4 weeks for activation,…
I run the same firmware as in the tech brief, but didn’t found any toggle button in installer app or if I log in the gateway directly to activate Modbus.

I currently have an open support ticket and am waiting for a response. I wasn’t aware of the repository you mentioned :+1:. My initial approach was to use an ESP32 to connect, retrieve the token, read data from the Envoy, and transmit it via Cam-bus or Modbus/TCP. However, after reviewing the official Enphase documentation, I decided to put the project on hold. I will continue waiting for a response from Enphase. Thanks

Repository works fine after some modification.
The consumed power wasn’t correctly calculated with Enphase connected at the output.

Modbus would be much easier.

Don’t know if mine location (Netherlands) or IQ gateway version is the problem, none response yet from Enphase,…

I am in Spain, and I have been waiting for a response for 5 days. If I don’t get a reply or if no one can confirm whether the Enphase solution is viable, I will reconsider the ESP32 solution or the one you mentioned in the repository.

Think in next firmware update, modbus will be implemented.

Hi, according to Enphase’s documentation, it is available starting from version 8.2.4264 or higher. We will keep waiting; as of today, I still haven’t received any response to the open ticket…

Correct, I run 8.2.4264, but it seems hard for Enphase to activate Modbus.

Hi, Today I received a response to the request to be able to use Modbus/TCP with Enphase. Their response is:
This is regarding case: 17xxxxx.

I would kindly like to inform you that the minimum required IQ Gateway software version is 7.6.168, and the supported IQ Gateway SKUs are ENV-S-WM-230 and ENV-S-EM-230.

The gird profile minimum version is 1.3.n.

I yesterday made a 4th ticket to activate Modbus in the installer chat, should get an answer in 24-48 working hours.
Why does Enphase not make a radio-button to activate/deactivate it?

After following up, they replied: “I’ll verify with the team and confirm with you within the next 24 hours. Please feel free to contact me if you need further assistance by replying to this email, which will automatically reopen the request.”
That was on April 14, 2025, but as of today, I haven’t received any further communication.

I simply will open the next ticket if Modbus is still not working.
I’m not sure if support is a robot or a real person, they ask me to follow the tech brief and I had to explain them I did, and I already made 3 tickets (2 by support email and by chat) for Modbus activation.

After mine question to check if Modbus is activated on mine system, I got the response they will mail me within 24-48 hours.

Enphase did activate Modbus this morning!!!

Hi, I’m happy for you! :grinning_face: Could you share a bit more information? Is the activation only for your installation? Did you have to activate it yourself?

Best open the Enphase chat and ask for Modbus activation.
And tell them you already made a ticket for activation.

Enphase has to activate it on you envoy s metered/ IQ gateway, you can’t do that yourself.
