Recently bought the new 50 amp dc/dc charger to go with the rest of my solar setup in my fifth wheel. I connected it to my f350 dually with dual alternator and have 4 battle born 100 amp batteries and my solar setup and Quattro ll. However I can only get 30 amps of charge to my Battle borns. Am I missing something? I mean the BBs should be taking in a good 80 amps. Is there a switch on the Quattro that needs to be changed? I have 4awg wire from my truck. It’s like it’s just cut off at 30 amps. Any input would be helpful thank you
Where is the charger located ?
Close to the alternator or close to the leasure batteries?
How full are your batteries ?
Lead or lithium ?
The charger is in the fifth wheel. I’m using 4awg wire so the amperage drop shouldn’t be a problem. The amperage shows 30 amps and doesn’t fluctuate. Like it is capped. I was in bulk charge on the lithium Battle borns. I have the charger configured to 48 amps. I’m thinking maybe the victron inverter is capping the voltage. Not sure. I’m running a Multiplus not a Quattro. My mistake there my bad. Maybe the mppt controller? Unsure.
I’m fairly sure neither the mp nor the mppt is influencing your xs.
I guess you just don’t get more power from the alternator because of voltage drop over plus and minus.
Check the voltage drop from alternator to xs.
Add some screenshots of the settings and the overview page while it’s charging.
Is engine shutdown detection enabled , if so what are the settings?
