24V 200Ah Versus 4 12V 100Ah

If I look at the datasheet for the Smart Lithium batteries, I see that the 24V 200Ah battery is 5120Wh and 237 x 650 x 163 mm (25,000 L). The 12V 100Ah battery is 1280Wh and 197 x 321 x 152 mm (9,600 L).

It would take 4 of the 12V batteries to deliver the same total energy as the 24V battery, but the volume the four batteries would take up (just the enclosures… not the additional wiring) would be roughly 38,400 L of space - a 54% increase in size for the same total energy.

Is that all due to the extra space taken up by the enclosures of the 12V batteries? It seems more than I would expect. But then I haven’t peeked into a Smart Lithium battery before to see what extra space is in there.

It could just be “next generation” or other cell types.

Maybe the data sheets have more info.

This is just the Smart Lithium batteries. Not the NG.

I’d look at the 12/200 instead of the 12/100. (2) 12/200s are extremely close in footprint to (1) 24/200.
