12v lithium batteries in series for 72v golf cart

For a 72v golf cart application, can I replace my 6 lead-acid batteries with 6 lithium 12v batteries wired in series? If so, what additional equipment do I need?

You need to ask the manufacturer of the batteries.

With Victron batteries you are not allowed to do that.

I thought I read that Victron batteries can be installed in series

In series yes but only up to 48V.

*and even then, depending. The SuperPack batteries cannot be installed in series at all. The component batteries (Lithium Smart, Lithium NG) can be installed in 12v, 24v, or 48v series. No 36, and nothing above 48.

Thank you

I would say that 36V should be ok.

In the BMS manuals that I see, only 12, 24, and 48 are listed - I don’t believe 36v is supported on any VE battery systems.

Yes, you don’t have any Victron components for 36V but it should work.

No, but I mean a VE battery needs a VE BMS, and no VE BMSs support 36v, therefore 36v is not a supported configuration for VE battery systems. Only speaking of Victron systems here, I was just clarifying that not all Victron LFP batteries can be series-connected (SuperPack, no), and of those that can only 12, 24, and 48v systems are possible.
