One of my\n 24 V batteries would only charge to 26.1 and the other 26.8, the voltage. For whatever reason, it wouldn’t rise, I trickle charged it for an entire 8 hours. So I’m trying to figure out how to get the BMS to release the battery. What I ended up doing is I dropped the voltage of the good battery from 26.8, down to 26.1, and then I connected the batteries back in parallel.\n Now I have it in just going to let the charge controller work. It can steal the battery and hoping that it’ll rectify whatever problem there is. But II really don’t\nThis is not having dealt with this kind of problem before

I would strongly advise that you consult a reputable, knowledgeable systems installer in your area to correct that installation before it causes system damage or worse.

There’s a lot of scary stuff going on there. Take a look some of the installation on the “show us your system” page and see what kind of quality of installation you should be shooting for. What you show in that picture is not only inefficient but dangerous. It’s no wonder you are having problems.

An inefficient, dangerous install is just as inefficient and dangerous no matter your social, economic or mental status. Most of us on this forum are self taught. Many of us have traumatic back stories too. :grinning_face:

Unfortunately I have neither the time nor the patience to teach physics, electrical theory, and wiring practices but: I hear you. Victron’s free book “Wiring Unlimited” is a great starting point for you to learn electrical theory and practice, and being free, only requires your time and willingness to learn.
