Confirming panel configuration for Victron MPPT 100/30

“Rat’s”.
Back in December, I had A rat. Bring me a very beautiful Christmas gift. He decided that he was gonna make a Jacuzzi underneath my solar panels. So he proceeded to build a nest by chewing the installation off of one of the wires coming off the back of my solar panels.

I had two vitron Charge controllers. 150/45 Network together, feeding my 24 V, 600 amp hour. Battery bank well, when it started raining in the middle of December. He had turned his brand new nest into a Jacuzzi. A week later, after the rain.

When the everything got dried, I tried to restart the system, but it wouldn’t, so I dismantled my entire system first thing that I found was the failure of one of the 2 charge controllers I had.

3 panels in series connected to one charge controller. And I had 6 panels connected in parallel to the other charge controller, and they’ve filled my bank up. Well, this charge control, it was in running the 6 in parallel, lost all of mast chips.

They’re all just burnt fell apart when I opened up the the controller to see to fix it.

Well, May 10th the other victoron, finally stumbled and fell out so out of the 9 panels. 5 of them were damaged. I had 2 panels that had the flat ribbon melted in between the the cells on the panel itself. And it was 3 other ones that just needed the diodes replaced in the back of them so I did that.So now I got 8 working panels and no charge controller.

So what I was kind of hoping is that one of you guys could help me pick out a charge controller.I have one coming in the mail.

It being is significantly smaller than the ones I had right now, there’s no money and I needed the power. So here goes the info about the panels.SHARP

For 100/30 on a 24volt system. With sharp MODULE NE-165U1 (6panels 2s 3p)

I tried using the vitron app calculator and it’s really difficult to input the information from the back of the panels, then it’s really geared towards just vitron stuff. I have 2 pieces that are victron, the charge controller and my 24/1200 inverter. I already had did the math, Just needed some confirmation Thank you very much. I appreciate you

Its now suggesting a 150/35 through your link, but with no difference in daily forecast

Sighs… I had 100/30 on the brain… The calculator is correct though the VOC of those panels is quite high

I was using Google AI assistant in order to help me.Because i’m have trouble reading and I mathematics not my favorite thing but I caught it several times making mathematical Mistakes, like one of them was to tell me to use my bench power supply to charge my batteries to balance them they wanted me to do the 28.8 at 10 amps, II wasn’t gonna do that, I knew better than that, I already knew the differences between the charge controller and the bench. Power supply, but that was just a suggestion, it threw out to me. So it started making me question my own mentality, and I knew it was better than to go and start guessing so I’m asking you know, for help. And this is the one forum I know that you guys are out there, man you you got way more runny time than I do. The old Controllers that I owned of the last one and it’s lifetime harvested 880 something kilowatts of power, I got an entire story bro, so I’m not gonna sit here and shoot you up your time, but if you’d like to hear it, I could use some help.Some guidance, but thanks for getting back to me, man.I appreciate you thank you

Life is hard. And everyone has their own personal issues and complications. Hopefully with the right help this is not one for you.
For some reason when I open my link the 100/30 is visible for me with the 2s 3p set up.

So i not sure how its different for chigru.

Maybe some changes you can make is cable gauge and length, I do not know the install details, or if California gets colder than -10°C.

You can charge lithium cell with a power supply so the AI is not entirely wrong, but the when to use rhe power supply is important. That is usually used in prep for the bms.
When you have a bms a proper charger is the way.

Otherwise the 100/30 is ok.

I had initially bought two150/45 I lost one of the 9 panels so I have to change my configuration.I only got so much money, so I had to get an entry level.That’s why I bought the 100/30 . The only thing that I could budget in that’s why I was asking how many panels I could actually push with it because I have 8 functioning panels, but the math does come out to only running 6I had already done the math. I just wanted to hear it from a someone with More experience than me. I’ve been doing this with this panel since 2022.. It’s like the other guy said, everybody got problems. I was just looking for confirmation that I wasn’t going to mess up because I have issues. I start getting negative thoughts. I started listening to this damn AI helper assistant and I caught him messing up the math twice, so I figured what could it hurt by coming in here and asking you guys, because you guys are smarter than me and probably got a little bit more confidence than I do, but there’s one thing that I don’t do is I don’t give up.

I ran into a problem with My battery bank, I have 220 fours in parallel, 200 amp hours and 2 twelves in series, and they’re both connected directly to the bus bar. Altogether, they give me 600 amp hours well. When I disconnected the batteries to maintenance them, clean them up and get them ready to be connected to the new charge controller coming in on Wednesday, the 12 V batteries are perfectly matched, there’s no difference in voltage, they’re both 13.25. But the\n 20 fours were out of balance, and they never were out of balance. I had gotten them within a 1/2 of a Volt between each other, but when I had them sitting all day long today, they separated to buy a entire Volt 1 was 26.1, and the other 1 was 25.2. So I put the lower one on the bench supply at 27.6, and it took me all day long. In order to charge that one all the way up to 27.6 using the bench power supply. But now, when I tried to connect the other battery that was already at 26.1, the bench power supply says that ino amperage going in it and no wattage. I have it set the parameters are set at 27.6 at 8 amps. That’s the same parameters I used to completely charge the first 24 V battery and I don’t know why it’s doing that, I checked the continuity for the cables I’m using there 16 mm², I got copper lugs on both ends. I cleaned the terminals for the battery posts themselves, but when I turned on the bench power supply, I just there’s no amps going through it. I’m trying to figure that out right now, I’m getting tired, I just now, about an hour ago finished the first filling the first battery
