if I disconnect the load side, I’m left with one on the BMV,I’m looking at the picture in manual one wire connected to the red my BMV 712 has two wire connected, red and black manufactured made going to the red , did I use the wrong wire? What should I do?thanks
If you want to calibrate the shunt to 0 amps, then you need to disconnect the black wire from the shunt, going to the Loads & Chargers.
The small red wire is to power the shunt, otherwise the shunt/BVM 712 doesn’t work.
perfect that’s what I kind of. Read and understood but my power lead for the shunt as two wire starting at the red split red and black. Am going to see if I can put a picture very soon. Thank you very much.
Most likely the BMV-712 temperature sensor then (make sure there’s an inline fuseholder on the red wire, otherwise you have the wrong temperature sensor there): Temperature sensor for BMV-712 Smart and BMV-702 | Victron Energy
I love those link and the picture. Yes that’s the wire that I have on. Do I keep the black plugged in
Problem fix the battery and inverters both say hundred . Time remaining is back on also.
I reset my SOC I had to turn it off weeks ago.
Thanks again ![]()
problem, again,
float, charging only after a fresh full charge 3 days ago from absorption, I installed the switch so I don’t have to play with wrench and I dida zero current calibration and synchronize set up about three weeks ago. I’m about 6% different from the battery.
How often I’m supposed to calibrate, or is it something else?
Thanks guys
SOC calibration is normally done by the shunt it self, everytime the 100% SOC is reached.
When shunt and battery SOC are not in balance, then often te shunt settings need to be adjusted.
I asked Google and AI mention about my setting
It worked out fine for quite a long time. Does that mean setting or adjustment? Is there a link on what to do that you mentioned?
It shows percentage 50% does not show any input when I’m charging, but the battery shows about how much what’s going in.
Thanks
I restarted the generator a day later ,still pushing float charge, hi managed to bring up the battery 14.25 with other charger ,as soon as I unplug those charger, my ve.bus smart quickly, went 100 percent time remaining up to 10 days everything normal.![]()

let’s see when I restart the generator when I dropped 13v just under if I will get bulk or absorption charge.
Thanks
