Where can I find Node red files?
Where can I find settings.js
What program do I use to edit settings.js
Hi!
One answer is here:
Why do you want to edit files?
How to best edit depends.
- if you’re somewhat familiar with a command line aka terminal prompt, then I recommend to get yourself root access. Login using ssh, for windows most people use a program called Putty for that.
- If you’re not, are more a typical windows user, then I recommend to check out WinSCP
Ps. Careful: you should probably not edit settings.js.
For more details on why, see venus os large manual.
I want to change the text to BOLD in the Victron nodes as the text is to light for me to read.
Found: root@einstein:/data/home/nodered/.node-red/node_modules/ Is this this the root directory on the PC?
root@einstein: What is this? and where can I find more information.
Hi,
Root@einstein is the prompt you see when you’re logged in to ssh aka shell aka terminal of the GX.
Note that I can’t really help you further with this I’m afraid, there is no straight forward source of information with more information on this.
Thanks That helps me.
But I am still looking for information, on how to access Node Red on the Cerbo.
Hi, best follow the getting started links in the “about” topic. There are getting started posts and a multi-part tutorial on the victron youtube channel.
When configured it will appear remotely in a dedicated section on VRM and on the cerbo on port 1881.
What command do I use, now that I am in Putty connected to the Cerbo, to list the files and find settings.js ?
