VRM release notes 19-03-2025

I thought the idea was great…even if the price is only vaguely correct, the system reacts completely differently in the coming days because the PV forecast is then also included in the calculations, since it can be calculated. But as mentioned above, I also see the risk that the predicted price is completely wrong and that some users will take to the barricades. I thought the experiment was good and very informative. I’m happy to test it if it advances development. Keep up the good work.:smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

On the other hand, we should also be realistic: if we could calculate stock prices a few days in advance, we could earn money more easily and better. We have to be that honest.

Great to hear you are so enthusiastic about it! So far contrary to what we thought, the first results were that forecasting the prices, even if they were accurate, didn’t lead to DESS saving much more money than just waiting for 3PM, but I’ll keep you posted if that changes!

Keep me posted if you find a way to forecast stock prices :smirking_face:

Well, if I find out how to accurately predict stock prices I certainly won’t share the knowledge :joy::joy:. But seriously. Nobody can predict it exactly but if you observe the prices you can see a certain weekly regularity. So I could imagine that the prices of the day of the previous week have a certain weighting. How reliable that is is of course up for debate but it would certainly be an approach. Victron’s consumption forecast is also based on historical values, how would a similar approach be for the prices? A certain dynamic due to current prices is also conceivable. The mere fact that prices are generally higher at the beginning of the week than on Sundays would mean that it is almost always right to start the week with the battery level as high as possible. Another idea is that the weather information is pretty accurate for the next 5 days but this data is only used for the time interval in which price data is available. If rain is forecast for the next 3-4 days and a PV shortfall is expected, it’s ALWAYS better to start with the battery as full as possible rather than selling electricity. Unfortunately, this knowledge of the upcoming shortfall isn’t used because the system doesn’t calculate it, as prices aren’t known. In my opinion, the upcoming prices are only of secondary importance; information about the PV shortfall is of secondary importance.

@Barbara
There is a major update we need to the Digital Input Notifications from the Cerbo GX. All notifications come as “Digital Input Alarm” The name assigned to the Digital Input doesn’t show.

So all notifications in email are useless since we don’t know which digital input alarm its coming from.

We’ve succeeded to win a tender to apply RMS to all 256 sites for a client having victory Quattro. But RMS is useless with out alarms and all alarm notifications on emails have no specific names assigned to the digital inputs.

Please how can we address this. Immediately?

Good morning @NahidValli ,

First of all congratulations on getting the tender!

I will check with the team if we can include the custom name of the device in the email and push notifications when the alarm triggers. Will give you feedback before tomorrow end of day.

@Barbara Thank you so much. This feature has been added. Now all push notifications on email notifications make sense. Thanks once again.
