VRM Portal update: Advertisements?

You do not seem to understand, your customers DO NOT see this block with news if they have less than 10 installations on their VRM.

This was your initial issue right, and is confirmed to not be true for customers, so issue resolved?

This seems like you have a very specific issue with Victron itself, for marketing its own news platform, to its own community, on its own VRM portal? Not sure what is happening here?

Man oh man, the option to disable was there in the beta, what is the issue to put that back really? It is symptomatic on this forum that everybody and anybody that voices any kind of opinion other than ‘hail Victron’ automatically gets grilled on his (or her) intelligence and intentions, not even by Victron but by other forum members. All that that accomplices is me/us keeping shut and stop putting effort in helping people and contributing solutions free of charge. Leave some space for a comment or request once in while will you.

PS, if it’s that important to get eyeballs for the corporate comms, Victron could just as well put it right here on this forum on the front page. This forum is where the technical audience is, not on VRM. It is clear as day what direction Victron is going with VRM and again that’s fine, just don’t force it by providing an opt out option.

All I am saying is you are going in circles now, your complaint was an option to turn this off for customers, but Victron clarified now that customers do not see it, now you are changing your issue to installers seeing it, so not following the real issue here, the VRM platform has been free since 2015, and now for the first time they are just adding an internal news section, which I love as I can now follow new releases for bug fixes and firmware. But I guess everyone is entitled to their opinions in the end.

I was done with this topic, until you had to bring it right back again. These off topic ad hominem responses are the reason I am not sharing our extensive Node-RED solutions publicly anymore. It’s a give and take, problem solved.

Restarting a closed topic is not helpful.
