Add the ability to create virtual devices from Node-RED! At the moment this is limited to grid meter, meteo, temperature sensor and tank sensor, but more will follow (depending on feedback).
WOOOWW! Really cool!
Where is the place to add the named feedback? here?
Im interrested to add an Virtual EVCS via NodeRed!
Or alternatively a meter with the role evcs, which is currently an incomplete function i learned recently ;D
Everything needs to be running stable for a while before I’ll add extra types of virtual devices.
The place for bugs and feature requests is in the issue tracker of node-red-contrib-victron.
But regular feedback may also be posted on community.
Wow that’s super cool, I’ve been looking for a solution to transfer data to Victron via virtual devices for a long time, thanks a lot for that!!!
But could you please give me a hint how to update the “node-red-contrib-victron” in the Victron NodeRed environment? I was able to load 1.60 directly in an independent NodeRed instance, but unfortunately not in the one on my Cerbo…
My installation is on CERBO GX, Venus OS v3.52~2.
I even tried to delete every flow, go back to v3.52~1 and reinstall ~2 but without results.
Any hint?
Thank you in advance.
Luca.
written simultaneously with @dfaber ? @luca_penzo , the correct Version is 1.5.23, cause it’s the latest and the 1.6.0 is shipped with unreleased venus 3.60beta.
so the only “problem” is that it says “1.6.0” instead of “1.5.23” in the install tab. Nothing else
Just wait for the 3.60beta
I use an external current transformer to measure the grid, so the internal current sensor is disabled.
I know the current that is going from and to the Victron by using a Shelly 3EM. Can you also create a virtual device for setting the input current when a the internal coil is disconnected?
This is an excellent feature update @dfaber. I would also suggest adding PV Inverters, as this would hopefully make unsupported plugins (dbus-mqtt-devices) obsolete for me and make adding PV inverters a lot more flexible
In case you missed it. The 3.60 firmware that ships with the virtual devices is available via the Beta release update feed.
I am indeed planning on adding other virtual devices (like PV inverters). But first want to get some more feedback from users to be sure everything works as expected. Meaning that I didn’t introduce new bugs and/or stability issues.
