V3.60~20 DESS doesnt use the full PV load when there is a planned battery charge

Hi, I recognized an issue the last days.

When the new prices comes into the DESS system and it is decided to load the battery with a certain rate, this loading rate keeps constant, even if there is enough PV load available to load at higher rates. So the system cant use the full PV load until the desired SOC is reached …

I my case the system was loading the battery with 1,5 kW rate (3,5 kW is max) to reach the desired SOC within an hour, but there was 5 kW of PV load available and 3,5 kW were fed into the grid.

Hi @bagel , thanks for your report. We’re aware of that and expect to have a fix for that in upcoming beta version soon.

I have also observed this problem several times. It was even worse a few months ago. But even today the grid charge sometimes chokes off the PV production. It really builds up. A little less PV charge and then the grid charge takes over and so on…
