Using a battery bank of 2 x flooded 12 v trojan motive batteries and 1 x 400w panel should the out of the box settings suffice or would there be an optimal change for the settings as this year my battery bank depletes faster than i would expect using victron mppt 100 30 any solid advice on victron settings to get more out of the batteries in the winter months
1no. 400w panel is not going to supply much power once the mppt self consumption of approx 9wh@day is taken into account, dependant on where you are located.
To give an indication of how low generation can be in the winter, today my 16,000w panel arrays produced 4.22kwh.
If i only had 400w panel this would equate to 0.105kwh, which may only keep batteries at a given soc as long as no loads are applied.
For your settings, best refer to battery data sheet and cross reference this to mppt settings to ensure they are correct / within parameters.
