I’ve been using Victron equipment for a number of telecoms UPS applications recently. Remote monitoring via VRM being the main attraction of Victron over other solutions.
The base of the system is a small Multiplus unit. At some sites the equipment is fed via DC to reduce conversion losses and increase runtime during a power outage. At other sites all the equipment is AC fed.
NodeRed is used to generate SMS alerts (via a web based service) to various members of the team involved in supporting the systems. The alerts via VRM are too cryptic for a non expert to understand at a glance.
So far these are performing very well and seen us through a number of long power outages. As always there are areas for improvement with the design and things I would do differently in future versions.
