Would it be possible to show energy prices without enabling DESS?
When disabling DESS the energy prices are not retrieved anymore.
Sort of like a dry-run mode.
I would like this option too
Enable DESS but set ESS to external control in the VRM Portal (under ‘Controls’ in the top right corner) should do. Obviously you then need to provide that ‘external control’.
There are many other ways but based on my assumption you want to see prices in the VRM Portal, this is the way. VenusOS Large’s build-in Node-RED is then the obvious next step to provide that ‘external control’, no other HA platforms required.
That’s how I’ve got mine setup. DESS enabled in VRM but disabled in Venus.
It doesn’t work to show prices.
I assume if it’s turned off in Venus then the account doesn’t get included when the cronjob to fetch all the prices gets called.
hmm, maybe you need set it to DESS (for at least one quarter of an hour per day) for that, at some time after the new prices roll in. At that point I’d simply forego the idea of using VRM portal as prices GUI though. Getting prices is easy, where to display them is the problem to solve.
