I have a string of 4 modules in series that would deliver a voltage of 155 volts at the assumed minimum temperature at the installation site. Would that destroy my MPPT 150/100?
Yes, the voltage max is a hard limit. And components will fail.
When the temperature of the panel is at min or you have cloud edge effect or a combination it can go even higher than basic calculations. Plus panels can have up to 3% variatnce so add that on top.
You may ‘get away with it’ once or twice. But its not worth the risk.

Thank you very much for your quick reply! So I will either change to 2S2P or take a 250 V MPPT.
Do check your string voltages at high panel temps.
Might get to a bit low for charging 48v batteries.
