Overload and fuse blown

I just a phoenix 12/250 inverter to run a fridge and only the fridge. I put a 30a fuse on the dc side as thats what I gathered from the paperwork but woke up this morning to an alarm saying over load. Do i need a bigger inverter?

Just updated it to v1.37 it was on v1.35

What fuse is installed there?is it a fast blow fuse? If so then there is a short peak is over 300watts

It is possible the surge for start up on the compressor is the cause of the issue. It could just be the design of the fridge control circuit, or it may have an issue. (Sorry internet diagnosis being what it is).

I have fridge that temporarily overloads an 800watt phoenix on start up.

Yeah i keep seeing that but I keep getting different peak surge power that it might go to. I have a multiplus i can connect it to but I dont always leave that on and wanted something just for the fridge. But buying a 12/1000 seems excessive.

The newest fridge with inverter compressor technology don’t have huge peak current and can be used on your inverter.

I think the 80 W label is the average power consumption while compressor is running. Startup surge should be above 500 W. I would suggest you to buy a plug power meter (my one). Then you should be able to decide whatever you change your inverter, your fridge or something else.

Just change to a slow blow fuse like the midi. If your inverter doesn’t overload shutdown then you are good.
Otherwise check the fridge health.
