Orion xs dc to dc chargers

Hi all
I’m in stalling to orion dc to dc chargers in a older grand banks, to charger my house batteries (4 life life L16s). My question/problem is with auto engine run. When not connected to shore power the system work perfectly, but when connected to shore power the start battery kicks in and charges the house batteries and the starter batteries. This pegs out the starter charge to 50 amps. I have a multi for house charging.
The question is can i plug the 12v ignition power on, to the h plug allowed to charge jumper and turn off the auto sensing?
Thank you

I connected the H connection to the 12v ignition power, and now the the orions start charging after engine starts and alternators power goes to 13.5 volts. The orions turn off charging as soon as the engines shut down. This solve my problem of the battery charger turning on the orions when the engines where not running. I have the start delay at 120s but they start charging as soon as they see voltage above 13.5? Not a real problem just would like the alternators to have a little more time to ramp up.

Why don’t you connect H to D+ ?

I don’t know what you mean by D+?

use the LIMA … D+ ???

Yes, that wiil make sure the xs only works when the alternator is charging.

Hey Steffen
This is on an older boat, it doesnt have the over complicated ignition system. The use of a LIMA D+ system is for complicated electrical systems that dosen’t have a simple 12v on circuit if my research is correct. My system has a simple 12 volt ignition that runs to a belmar external regulator. That is where I picked up 12v signal and connected to the H connection. When the ignition is off the house/leasure battery and the start battery are seating at different battery voltages which tells me they are isolated, also when i turn on the battery charger now the orions don’t start and share the battery charge with the house. This solved my problem so far.
Thanks for the imput

Sorry, D+ is the oldest system available, it is also responsible for the red alternator bulb on your dashboard.
