@alexpescaru
Just a little more and you too will be able to play with the features you have been waiting for on your RS.
@lxonline
Thanks, but I don’t think that the two things that I am wanting for my Multi RS will came with the new firmware.
- Balancing between MPPTs, when both MPPTs are used with identical strings.
- Ability to set the fans’ temperature profiles, because still are situations when there’s thermal runaway.
Don’t care (yet) about grid injection and therefore don’t care about DESS.
I was just curious because it’s about time…
Now, the RS19, well… that’s another thing…
But it was announced since two years now and many tech fairs back and still wait for it to hit the market…
PS: Sorry for off-topic.
Yeah. It is off topic. Pity.
Is it just the form factor of the HS 19 you like? I am dead keen on them too. (Also more so that grid feedback)
I was thinking the features would be interesting to you since you like to play with the code and check things out not so much because you wanted the feature.
Of course I will dig into the code…
It seems that I have too much time into my hands.

What do you think… An Off-topic section, as seen on many communities, will be a good thing?
Who knows, many good things and ideas can came out from discussions on such section…
Not to mention the new social bonds between members of the community.
Let’s hope that when the HS19 will finally hit the market will have the feedback included from the start.
I am waiting for it because I want to “compress” all the space taken by the solar system in just one big 19" cabinet. Batteries, RS, Cerbo, all.
Almost like something “portable” which will connect with outside world in 3 points: PV-In, AC-In, AC-Out.
Regarding Multi RS, I have settled to a certain configuration that works OK for me. RS 1.16 and Cerbo 3.32.
Already modified quite a lot of scripts in the Venus OS to suit my needs and I am too lazy to make something easy to port to any later Venus OS version. So, in this moment, like they say it, if it works, don’t change / upgrade it.
As per the two inconveniences with the Multi RS firmware, who knows, now that I have the info and knowledge to read the firmware at the hardware level, maybe one day I will modify the firmware to suit my needs. Probably just small modifications in key points, like hardcoded hysteresis points for temperatures and PV powers.
PS:
Should I understand that some people got ahead the beta firmware for the Multi RS?
It makes sense that a select group on known people with known installs closer to Victron home have that privilege.
I don’t know much more than you really.
The racking is definitely what i am keen on too. Not having to mount everything on a wall also changes the entire install environment.
