Has anyone dealt with a shutdown of the multiplus during a high amp draw?
I was running the microwave and toaster and the multiplus turned off and back on.
I have the grid input current limit in ve configure set to 50 amps but at the time of running the appliances the draw was partly taken from the batteries and the grid draw was only 30 amps total draw was 66amps
My solar mppt was charging at 30+ amps and i was wondering if the cumulitive amps were causing the problem. The battery volts did not drop below my dynamic cut off setting and i dont believe my bms cut out.
Did not see any overload warning in cerbo gx
Any thoughts would help thanks

You are running ESS, so the dynamic voltage cutoffs are being used I assume.
The problem is that it happens so fast nothing appears to get logged, which is frustrating.
If you have a Victron MPPT running, I have found that sometimes it will independently catch the battery voltage minimum. Check in Victron Connect under Detailed and look at the Battery Min V.
When this has happened to me, I see a min voltage of like 44.0V, so then I know the battery/cabling/fuse resistance/etc. was insufficient for the peak load. I wouldn’t have known by just looking at VRM.
Ok thx in mppt yesterday when it happened showing 51.06 min
My dynamic cut offs i have set at
.0005C 46.75
.25 46.5
.7 46
2C 45 dont think i went that low
Maybe it was a ripple shutdown. That can happen quick without an alarm.
Either way, you will want to check your voltage drop on your cabling - even a tiny improvement can mean many tenths of a volt improvement, and also improvements in DC ripple.
I would;
- setup an AC load that does not fluctuate - maybe a heater at 2kw or so
- turn off your solar isolators - incoming solar might fluctuate a lot
- its best if the load is coming from battery only - we want to isolate the test to just the battery cabling first, so maybe turn off grid breakers for now.
- take your readings with the most precise meter you have, at every exposed point from the inverter down to the battery.
- Post your readings, and tell us the current that was flowing at the time.
Happens when the ve bus shows high amp draw
I have it set to 70 amp max from grid
Maybe i should increase it? Is the 70 amps combined amps in and out?
I have system connected to 60 amp breaker at main panel but my amps are coming from the battery not the grid.
You have a total draw of 66a ?
So @ 120v that is around 7000w.
The Multiplus is rated for 4000w.
I believe I have figured out the problem and fixed it by increasing
The grid max to 85 amps. I have not had a “off” situation since doing this and I realized with the help of multiple forums that my grid meter was adding my grid draw and my charging amps to shut unit down above 70 .
