Multi RS power cut

Hi,

I have a DIY home ESS installation around Multi RS, Cerbo, JK BMS etc… This morning I’ve noticed that the power has been off. VRM portal’s “Alarm logs” does not show anything. I suspect that the Multi RS switched off, I’ve seen it do that a few times last week. Where could I find more information about what has happened?

I’ve checked the logs on my Cerbo’s /data/logs/.. directory, but except for a link down- and up message I don’t see anything else. The Cerbo is directly connected to the DC side (so it didn’t went down), while the network switch is connected to AC. According to these logs, the outage must have lasted less than a second, since the Link Down and Up messages have the same time stamp.

Btw, not sure it’s relevant, the installation as a whole is working now for 7 days. As mentioned, the first day I’ve had multiple times that the Multi RS power cycled, with a message on its LCD display about high voltage. This was before setting most of the parameters of the battery pack.

Thanks!

Probably should not have powered up the whole system before making sure your battery was programmed.

Next step should have been to power up the inverter with mains and load off and solar off. Update and program.

Then.
Test mains charge.
Test solar charge

Test load support.

Test discharge.

Is that happening while grid connected, while there is solar or while inverting?

Are you sure your jk bms is programed and set up correctly and does it have a bms connection to the GX?

Is that happening while grid connected…

Yes, Multi RS is connected to the grid, loads connected to ACout1. I have found out after my initial message that there was a grid outage this morning, which may have triggered the Multi RS to power-cycle. Even so, it is is surprising, since a few days ago I’ve done a successful mains off test without a glitch.

… while there is solar …

Well, I have a stand-alone SolarBox installation which is connected to ACout1. Still, there is 0 PV in the morning, being winter here.

.. or while inverting?

That I don’t know. Which is why I’m trying to find out where to get this info

Are tou sure tur jk bms is programed and set up correctly and does it have a bms connection to the GX?

yes I am. It has been done by an experienced friend.

If it is loggin to the VRM its easy to tell in the logs there

As I was saying in my initial post: “… VRM portal’s “Alarm logs” does not show anything.”

Or is there another place in VRM that you have in mind?
