I have 2 MPPT 100/20 in parallel on a Raspberry Venus 3.50 and a DIYBMS with a 48V Lifepo battery.
Problem: One MPPT hangs at some point and no longer charges. The LED at the MPPT is yellow.
The MPPT does not seem to come down from this, it remains at 0W feed-in although all values are the same as those of the one still feeding in.
Only a restart of the MPPT restet the error and the MPPT start charging again.
If both mppt’s are in absorption (yellow led) it is likely that one mppt has throttled down to 0w, as the other mppt can supply enough current to keep the battery at the absorption voltage.
OK,
but the problem is that the mppt does not feed in again. It stays off.
I noticed this as well. Till last year everything looked fine. The batteries (Pylontech) were full and the MPPTs still produce and the MP feed into grid.
The last days when my battery is full for about 30 min, all my MPPT’s (I’ve three) are in pause mode and later on, they are producing → feed in again.
What exactly does this mean?
It stays in absorption with no output current?
It never switches over to float?
It does not restart charging the next day?
Perhaps some screen shots from Victron Connect would help.
Also mention your absorption voltage.
