MPPT RS 450 /100 availability

Is that going to work with the near-real-time requirements ?

Well, I’ve used it for phase synchronisation of ac-drives without problems.
As long as you stay local its not a problem.

What’s the drive frequency?
I would imagine that running a full IP stack would put a lot more pressure on the CPU?

10-100Hz

But I’m only talking about the bus, not the cpu.

Do you know what type SPD? I assume a basic 2 or 3? External type 1 is about Ā£250 each x 7 Ā£! And a lot of work and wall space after 7 isolators…

I am wondering how you can identify, if it’s the updated or the old version of 450/x00 MC4, BEFORE buying?
Is there a specific number or manufacturing date which can be checked and the dealer can be asked for?

The serial is in form of HQXXYY…
XX year, YY week
I suppose that those should be as recent as possible, as the technical bulletin is from August 2024, so 3-5 months after that, as they say in the bulletin.
So better be of year 2025.

Since all RS450 models where sold out for over 3 months no one should have any of the old units on stock.
New units should have a serial number from late 24 or early 25.

Even if you some how get an ā€œoldā€ unit you would be totally fine with that as long as you install it as described in the manual.
The ā€œproblemā€ was that some users installed the units in a corrosive atmosphere which isn’t allowed.
Victron improved the coating of the PCB.
